Sara, a lifelong cat lover, had found the perfect little black kitten. “She was just so warm and gentle and amazing. I loved her very much," she says of Bastet, named for an Egyptian feline goddess. But when Bastet began having accidents on the living room carpet, Sara knew something was wrong and found an emergency 24-hour vet.

Sara suspected that Bastet had a straightforward infection that could be easily treated, but after extensive testing, the diagnosis was more serious: Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a progressive viral infection that is almost always fatal.1

Sara was heartbroken. “Every second I was home, Bastet just wanted to curl up in my lap." Sara and Bastet had a few more months together, and during that time Sara felt peace of mind that she was able to pay for the best veterinary care possible thanks to her CareCredit credit card. “It was a huge relief," Sara says.
