CareCredit Basics

What is CareCredit?

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card that makes care possible today - for purchases of all amounts. It is a credit card designed for your health, beauty, and wellness needs. With many of our special financing options, you can avoid paying interest by making your minimum monthly payments and paying the full amount due by the end of the promotional period. Not all enrolled healthcare practices offer all special financing options, so please ask your practice to explain which ones are available for your purchase. For complete details, please read the Credit Card Account Agreement within the application.

Where can I use CareCredit?

Your CareCredit credit card can be used at over 175,000 enrolled providers nationwide for services including Vision Care, Veterinary, Dentistry, Cosmetic Treatments, Cosmetic Surgery, Hearing Care and more. Once you have CareCredit you can use it over and over without reapplying for you, your family, and even your pets!

How is CareCredit different from my other bank cards?

Unlike your Visa or MasterCard, the CareCredit healthcare credit card offers special financing options. With shorter term financing options that range from 6 to 24 months, no interest will be charged on purchases of $200 or more if you make your minimum monthly payments and pay the full amount due by the end of the promotional period. Interest will be charged to your account from the purchase date if the promotional balance, including optional charges, is not paid in full within 6, 12, 18 or 24 months. Minimum monthly payments are required.

If you need more time to pay for your procedure, we also offer longer programs with a reduced, fixed interest rate. The fixed monthly payment amount is based on repayment over a 24, 36, 48 or 60-month period. Purchases of $1,000 or more are eligible for a 24, 36 or 48-month offer and purchases of $2,500 or more are eligible for a 60-month offer. Not all practices offer all CareCredit financing options, so check with your provider. For complete details, please read the Credit Card Account Agreement within the application.

Is CareCredit an insurance policy?

No. CareCredit is a healthcare credit card. You qualify on the strength of your credit history. It does not replace insurance policies. Instead, it's meant to help you pay out-of-pocket healthcare costs that may not be covered by your insurance policy.

I'm not sure I want another credit card. Why do I want CareCredit?

The CareCredit healthcare credit card is designed specifically for your healthcare needs and wants, but once you've applied you can use it repeatedly for anyone in the family, including your pets. CareCredit has a financing option for many of the health, beauty, and wellness expenses that come up on a regular basis.

To avoid paying interest on purchases of $200 or more, simply make your minimum monthly payment and pay your full amount due by the end of the promotional period. Interest will be charged to your account from the purchase date if the promotional balance, including optional charges, is not paid in full within 6, 12, 18 or 24 months. Minimum monthly payments are required

Plan and Provider Details

What kind of payment options does CareCredit offer?

CareCredit offers a full range of financing options. On purchases of $200 or more, we offer 6, 12, 18, and 24 month plans where you can avoid paying interest if you make your minimum monthly payments and pay the full amount due by the end of the promotional period. Interest will be charged to your account from the purchase date if the promotional balance, including optional charges, is not paid in full within 6, 12, 18 or 24 months.. Minimum monthly payments are required.

For patients and clients with higher treatment fees who would prefer more time to pay with convenient monthly payments, CareCredit offers longer payment options with a reduced, fixed interest rate. The fixed monthly payment amount is based on repayment over a 24, 36, 48 or 60- month period. Purchases of $1,000 or more are eligible for a 24, 36 or 48-month offer and purchases of $2,500 or more are eligible for a 60-month offer. Not all practices offer all CareCredit financing options, so check with your provider.

You must make at least the fixed minimum monthly payment on or before the due date each month to keep your account in good standing. You can always pay more than the minimum payment. For complete details, please read the Credit Card Account Agreement within the application. To find out which plans are available in your provider's practice, be sure to speak with the office manager or financial coordinator.

How can I find out which doctors accept CareCredit?

CareCredit is accepted by over 175,000 enrolled providers and is the nation's leading financing program. Click here to find a doctor in your area. You can search by your doctor's name, or if you don't have a doctor in mind, you can search for doctors in your area by using the ZIP code search option.

How can I find out what payment options my provider offers?

Not all practices offer every plan. Contact your healthcare provider to find out which plans they offer. Be sure to speak with the office manager or financial coordinator.

If I don't pay the full amount by the end of the term, will I only have to pay interest on the remaining balance?

No, finance charges (interest) are calculated on this purchase in the same way as a standard purchase (daily periodic rate multiplied by the daily balance). However, these finance charges are deferred (not added to your balance) for the length of the promotional period. Although they are not added during the term, the total amount of the finance charges will continue to increase until the balance is paid in full. If you pay the total balance (amount of the purchase) on or before the final due date of the promotional period, provided by your CareCredit provider, you will not be required to pay any of the finance charges. These accrued finance charges are waived.

If you do not pay the total balance (amount of the purchase) on or before the final due date of the promotional period, all finance charges that have been deferred (calculated, but not added) will be added to your account balance and you will be required to pay all of the finance charges from the original purchase date and purchase amount.

CareCredit offers a variety of special financing options. For purchases of $200 or more, most of our cardholders opt for our shorter term plans from 6 to 24 months.
